Upon arrival at the recently renovated Fes airport, our staff will be ready to welcome you and transfer you to your riad.
Founded in 790 by Moulay Idriss, Fes is considered the religious, intellectual, and artistic capital of Morocco. Exploring Fes means losing yourself in the labyrinth of its narrow, winding streets, characterized by stairs and covered passages. You will visit the Medersa Attarine, one of the largest and most fascinating ancient Quranic universities, and Najjarine Square, famous for its extraordinary fountain decorated with mosaics, zellige, and stucco. You will also admire the esplanade of the Royal Palace with its imposing golden gate and the remnants of the Merinid tombs (13th-14th century). Enjoy a panoramic view of the city, its walls, and the surrounding landscape, and don’t miss the opportunity to visit the historic leather and carpet workshops.
After breakfast, we will depart for Merzouga, passing through Ifrane. We will cross Azrou and its enchanting Cedar Forest before continuing through the Ziz Valley and Tafilalet. We will arrive in Merzouga, where our camels will be waiting for an enchanting ride through the desert dunes. We will then reach our nomadic camp, nestled in the heart of the dunes, where we will spend the night. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a traditional Berber tent.
After breakfast, we will begin our exploration of Merzouga, immersing ourselves in the nomadic life of the region. We will stop at the village of Khamlia, a picturesque settlement known for its vibrant African music. We will continue to the Mifiss mines and the majestic desert dunes, where we will have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious mint tea with Berber nomads. We will end the day by visiting the Tissardmine oasis. We will return to the riad for a peaceful lunch, and in the afternoon, you will have free time to relax and enjoy the serenity of the desert. Dinner and overnight stay will be in the riad.
After breakfast, we will set off for Fes, crossing the enchanting Ziz Valley. Along the way, we will stop to admire the breathtaking scenery and take some photos. We will continue to Midelt, where we will stop for a relaxing lunch. From there, we will continue our journey towards Ifrane, known as the “Moroccan Switzerland.” We will make a brief stop in Azrou to explore its fascinating cedar grove and observe the playful monkeys that inhabit it. We will arrive in Fes in the late evening, where we will spend the night.
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the airport at the scheduled time. End of our services.
