We will depart from your hotel or riad in Marrakech and begin our journey to the Dades Valley. Crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains, we’ll stop to admire the panoramic views and take some photos at high altitude. After passing through Ouarzazate, we will visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a popular backdrop for many films including *Lawrence of Arabia*, *Gladiator*, and *Alexander*. We’ll have lunch here before continuing our journey through stunning landscapes and historical sites, such as the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses, renowned for its rose plantations and the annual Rose Festival in May. We’ll also pass through the small Berber villages of Skoura and El Kelaa M’Gouna, before arriving in Boumalne Dades, where we will spend the night.
After exploring the Dades Valley, our journey continues towards the Todra Gorge, where you can marvel at the stunning red rock canyons framed by lush palm trees and the flowing Todra River. We will have lunch at a restaurant in the Todra Gorge before heading towards Erfoud, Rissani, and finally reaching Merzouga, a small village at the foot of the magnificent Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll embark on a camel caravan, with about an hour’s trek into the heart of the golden Sahara desert, arriving at a Berber tented camp just before sunset. Enjoy the breathtaking spectacle of the sun setting over the dunes, followed by a traditional dinner and Berber music under the starry sky. Overnight in a tent.
After witnessing a beautiful sunrise over the dunes, we’ll return to Merzouga by camel. Following breakfast and a refreshing shower, we will continue our journey through the palm-dotted Ziz Valley. The route will take us through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing by cedar forests where you might spot Barbary monkeys. We’ll pass through Ifrane, a European-style town, before arriving in Fes in the evening. You’ll be dropped off at your riad, marking the end of our services.
