Depart from Marrakech at 7:00 AM, traveling through the High Atlas Mountains for approximately 200 km. We’ll take a short break for breakfast around 9:00 AM in Tadart, a Berber village. Our first major stop will be a visit to the Kasbah Aït Ben Haddou, a 16th-century fortress and UNESCO World Heritage site, known as the backdrop for many famous films such as *Gladiator*, *Lawrence of Arabia*, and *Kingdom of Heaven*. We’ll have lunch here before continuing our journey through the Valley of Roses and the Road of 1,000 Kasbahs. We’ll arrive at the Dades Gorge around 5:00 PM, where we’ll spend the night.
After breakfast, we’ll head towards the beautiful Dades Valley, known for its stunning gorges. We’ll continue to the Todra Gorge, where you can admire the towering red rock cliffs and the lush palm groves. We’ll then travel to Rissani, where we’ll explore the lively local souk. From Merzouga, we’ll embark on a camel trek of about an hour and a half, crossing the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi. Dinner and overnight stay will be in a traditional Berber tented camp in the desert.
After witnessing the sunrise over the dunes, we’ll return to Merzouga by camel and head to a local hotel for breakfast and a refreshing shower. The rest of the day is dedicated to exploring the Merzouga region: visit the natural fossil sites in the desert, the village of Tissrdmin where many films have been shot, and the black desert with its volcanic stones. We’ll also visit a nomadic family and the village of Kamlia, known for its inhabitants of African descent and their unique music. Return to Merzouga for dinner and an overnight stay at a riad of your choice.
After enjoying a beautiful sunrise over the dunes, we’ll return to Merzouga by camel. Following breakfast and a shower, we’ll continue our journey through the palm-dotted Ziz Valley. We’ll travel through the Middle Atlas Mountains, passing by cedar forests and the European-style town of Ifrane, before arriving in Fes in the evening. You’ll be dropped off at your riad, marking the end of our services.
