Depart from Marrakech heading towards Ouarzazate, crossing the majestic Atlas Mountains. Along the way, you’ll pass through the spectacular Tizi Ntichka Pass at an altitude of 2,260 meters, offering enchanting views and picturesque Berber villages nestled among the mountains. You will arrive at the Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a magnificent and well-preserved fortress that is a perfect example of southern Moroccan architecture. This ancient residence of the Pasha of Marrakech, also known as “El Glaoui,” is surrounded by almond trees and has been the set for numerous famous films set in the desert.
The journey continues towards Zagora, passing through the stunning Draa Valley, also known as the “Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs” due to the many fortresses scattered along the valley, nestled among the red rocks, showcasing Berber culture. The landscape is complemented by the lush greenery of the palm trees lining the Draa River, the longest river in Morocco. Arrival in Zagora is scheduled for the afternoon. Before sunset, you will embark on a camel caravan to reach a traditional Berber camp, where you will spend the night in a “Khaima” tent. The evening will be enlivened by a dinner under the stars and traditional Berber percussion music.
At dawn, wake up to witness the spectacular sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast at the camp, return to Zagora by camel. Following a short break, you will depart for Marrakech. Along the way, several stops will allow you to admire and photograph the most stunning landscapes of these valleys. Arrival in Ouarzazate includes a visit to the Taourirt Kasbah. The journey continues towards Marrakech, with a lunch stop at the Tizi Ntichka Pass. The tour concludes with arrival in Marrakech in the late afternoon, where you will be escorted to your riad or hotel. End of our services.
