On the first day of your trip, you will meet your guide at the port or your hotel and begin the tour by heading toward the Rif Mountains and the city of Tetouan. Along the way, you can admire the breathtaking mountain landscapes before arriving in Chefchaouen, a charming village at the foot of the Rif Mountains. The medina of Chefchaouen, with its Spanish-style square, is surrounded by artisan shops, restaurants, and cafés. You will spend the night in a cozy accommodation that allows you to enjoy the cool and natural beauty of the place.
After breakfast at the riad, you will continue your journey towards Volubilis, passing through Wazan and other picturesque Rif villages. In Volubilis, you’ll explore the fascinating Roman ruins at the archaeological site. Afterward, you’ll head to Meknes, a 17th-century city. Here, you’ll pause for lunch and have the opportunity to admire the grand historical gates of the medina, including Bab El Mansour. After visiting Meknes, you’ll continue to Fes, where you will spend the night.
After breakfast at the riad, you’ll begin exploring Fes, the oldest city in Morocco, walking through its characteristic alleys and narrow streets. The day starts with a visit to the Royal Palace and the Jewish quarter, the first Mellah built in Morocco in the 16th century. You’ll explore major historical and cultural sites such as the ancient Al Qaraouine University, the historical tanneries, the Attarine Museum, and the Mausoleum of Moulay Idriss. After lunch, you’ll have the opportunity to visit a ceramics cooperative and enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of Fes’ medina.
On the fourth day, you’ll head to Merzouga, the gateway to the spectacular sand dunes of Erg Chebbi in the Sahara Desert. Departing from your riad or hotel, you’ll travel south through Ifrane and Azrou, crossing the Middle Atlas Mountains. During the journey, you’ll stop in the cedar forests to observe the Barbary monkeys in their natural habitat.
Continuing through the Tizi Ntalghamt pass and passing by Midelt, you’ll admire the magnificent Ziz Gorges carved out of volcanic rock. The landscape will gradually change as you approach the desert near Errachidia. After lunch, you’ll continue through the Ziz Valley to Erfoud and finally reach Merzouga.
Upon arrival in Merzouga, you’ll be greeted with traditional mint tea. After safely storing your luggage at the hotel, you’ll begin a 90-minute camel trek to the Berber camp located among the Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll settle into Berber tents equipped with mattresses and blankets. The evening will conclude with a typical dinner and traditional drum music, all under a starlit sky.
We will wake up early to admire the enchanting sunrise over the desert dunes. Afterward, we will return to our hotel by camel. Following a refreshing shower and a hearty breakfast, we will depart from Merzouga towards Tinghir and the spectacular Todra Gorges. We will continue to the Dades Valley, where the day will conclude with dinner and an overnight stay in a cozy riad.
After breakfast, you will drive through the Dades Valley towards Kalaat Mgouna and Ouarzazate. You’ll travel along the scenic road of a thousand kasbahs, perfect for photographing stunning landscapes. You will visit the Valley of Roses and the village of Skoura before heading to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Africa.” Lunch will be served at the majestic Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, a UNESCO World Heritage site. The journey will continue through the Tizi n’Tichka pass at 2,260 meters, where you can admire the views and visit argan oil cooperatives. You will arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
After breakfast at the riad, you will begin exploring Marrakech, Morocco’s “red city.” You will visit the city’s main historical and cultural sites, discovering its wonders and unique atmosphere.
