Upon arrival at the recently renovated Fes airport, our staff will be ready to welcome you and transfer you to your riad.
After breakfast, we’ll start the day with a visit to the imperial city and spiritual capital of Morocco: Fes. We’ll explore the Medersa Attarine, the Nejjarine Fountain, and the Karaouine University. Lunch will be served in a historic palace within the medina.
In the afternoon, the visit continues with Fes Jdid, the Royal Palace, and a panoramic view of the old medina. After the visit, we’ll head towards Midelt, crossing the Atlas Mountains and cedar forests of the Middle Atlas, home to several monkey species. We’ll pass through Ifrane, a charming town, and Azrou, an important center for cedar wood craftsmanship. After crossing the Zad Pass (2178m), we’ll arrive in Midelt. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.
After breakfast, we’ll depart towards Erfoud and Errachidia, crossing the Ziz Valley with its impressive palm groves. We’ll continue the journey until we reach the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi. We’ll arrive in Erfoud, once a French administrative center, known for its fossil factories and date festival.
From here, our desert adventure begins, following the famous Paris-Dakar route. We’ll cross the two oases of Merzouga, visit a nomad camp, the village of Khamlia (known for the music of its inhabitants from Black Africa), the Mifiss mines, the desert plateaus where we’ll meet Berber nomads, and finally the oases of Tissardmine.
We’ll arrive at the hostel around 3:00 PM to start the camel caravan, admiring the spectacular sunset over the dunes. We’ll spend the night in a wild oasis about two hours into the desert, with dinner and overnight stay in a Berber tent camp. This place offers one of the best experiences for seeing the sunrise, sunset, and a sky full of stars.
An early wake-up to witness the sunrise over the dunes, then return by camel to the base of the dunes. After breakfast, we’ll depart for Rissani, with a visit to the lively local market. Rissani, the first capital of Morocco, offers a fascinating glimpse into the country’s history. Next, we’ll visit Erfoud to explore the marble and fossil factory.
We’ll continue towards the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad, until we reach the spectacular Todra Gorges, the highest gorges in Morocco, known for their appeal to climbers and characterized by a river, wheat fields, and ancient kasbahs. After lunch, we’ll continue the journey to Dades. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.
After breakfast, we’ll depart for the Dades Valley and the kasbah of Aït Youl. We’ll admire the kasbahs and ksour of the Rose Valley until we reach Kelaa M’gouna. Lunch will be served locally, followed by a visit to the Skoura palm grove and the kasbah of Amredhyle. We’ll then arrive in Ouarzazate, where we’ll visit the Taourirt Kasbah, the ECLA film studios, and the kasbah of Aït Benhaddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site and famous film location for movies like Lawrence of Arabia, The Sheltering Sky, and Gladiator.
We’ll continue passing through the villages of Merzgane and Ighrem, with lunch along the way. Our next destination is Marrakech, crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka pass. Arrival in Marrakech in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.
After breakfast, we’ll set out for an in-depth visit of Marrakech and its most important monuments. We’ll visit the Menara Gardens, the Koutoubia Minaret, the Saadian Tombs, and the Bahia Palace. After lunch, we’ll continue with a visit to the Agdal Gardens, the Gueliz district, and the markets within the main square of Jemaa el-Fna. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.
After breakfast, we’ll depart for Rabat via highway. Upon arrival in Rabat, we’ll visit the kingdom’s capital: the Kasbah of the Udayas, the Mausoleum of Mohammed V, and the Hassan Tower. We’ll continue to Meknes, a famous imperial city known for its well-preserved 40 km of walls. We’ll visit Bab Mansour, the largest gate, the old medina, the Jewish quarter, and the royal palaces. We’ll continue to the holy city of Moulay Idriss, where the founder of Islam in Morocco is buried. Next, we’ll visit the Roman ruins of Volubilis. In the late afternoon, we’ll arrive in Fes. Dinner and overnight stay in a riad.
After breakfast in the riad, transfer to the Fes airport according to flight times. End of our services.
