FAQ

one of the first things you need to decide for your Desert tours is which area of the desert Sahara will you visit and where will you commence your trip to Sahara desert. There are two main deserts which tourists visit in Morocco for their Sahara Desert holiday – either the Merzouga Desert or the Zagora Desert and usually tourists commence their tour from either Marrakech or Fez. We will discuss both these points further below.Sahara Desert near Merzouga Erg chebbi Merzouga tours are the most popular Morocco Desert tours, with Merzouga being located close to the popular Erg Chebbi sand dunes. The dunes at Erg Chebbi are taller and richer in color then the dunes found near Zagora making them a much more sought after destination.
What are the best things to do in the Sahara Desert? There are all sorts of activities you can do in the Moroccan desert — from camel trek to desert glamping to sandboarding to ATV riding and more.A 3-day tour actually gives you fairly limited time in the Sahara Desert. You will do a sunset camel trekking , have a desert camp meal, sleep in a tent, stargaze, and be able to watch the sunrise before leaving again — that’s about it.If you want more time in the Sahara Desert, I suggest taking two night in desert with desert trip 5 days
if you are willing to do the Sahara desert tour, there are some desert trip essentials stuff that you need to have in your packing list These are the following:Appropriate shoes for hiking in the gorges and the mountains, for the desert you can go barefooted if you want to. A warm jacket to keep you warm in the cooler nights and mornings of the desert, so you can catch the sunrise and the sunset. Sunglasses and headscarves to protect your eyes from the strong sun in the regions of the south and the dust and sun of the Sahara desert. Comfortable pants to make sure you can ride a camel and climb the dunes freely. Enough medications that can cover an extra day or two. As you know, pharmacies are far from the desert. A flashlight to use at night at your campsite.
The choice of traveling on a shared or private tour is based on your personal preferences. If you wish to travel with a group, many travel agencies organize group trips of this type. However, keep in mind that travel is usually done in a minivan with only a driver and no guide included. You will not have any opportunity for off-road driving and you cannot drive directly to the camp, but instead you will be taken by a camel caravan. Stops along the way are pre-scheduled and very limited. The advantages are that traveling in a group tour can be more convenient and more suitable especially for solo travellers. Traveling on a private desert tour, on the other hand, is a bit expensive. The benefits are that you can stop along the way anytime, anywhere you like for photos and sightseeing and off-road driving. You can go to the camp in a 4×4 jeep. Sure, a private trip is more personal and more intimate. It is the best choice for couples and families
The best time to take Sahara Desert tours depends on many factors. As for the temperature, the best time to visit the desert will be anytime between May and October. This is the best time of year when the daytime temperature is comfortable. In the months of December and January the temperature drops below zero. Between June and August, the weather can be hot with the July and August daytime being the highest often exceeding 49 degrees Celsius. From the point of view of high and low season, the high season is from the end of March to the end of May and from September to the end of December after New Year's Eve.
