We will depart from your hotel or riad in Marrakech to begin our journey to the Dades Valley. Crossing the Tizi-n-Tichka Pass in the Atlas Mountains, we’ll stop to take in the breathtaking panoramic views and capture some high-altitude photos. After passing through Ouarzazate, we’ll visit the UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou Kasbah, famous as the backdrop for numerous films, including *Lawrence of Arabia*, *Gladiator*, and *Alexander*. We’ll have lunch here before continuing our journey through the natural beauty, landscapes, and historical monuments, such as the Taourirt Kasbah in Ouarzazate and the Valley of Roses, known for its rose plantations and the annual Rose Festival held in May. We’ll also pass through the small Berber villages of Skoura and El Kelaa M’Gouna, before reaching Boumalne Dades, where we will spend the night.
After exploring the Dades Valley, we will continue our journey to the Todra Gorge, where you can admire the magnificent red rock canyons, flanked by the lush palm groves along the Todra River. We’ll have lunch at a restaurant in the Todra Gorge before heading towards Erfoud, Rissani, and finally arriving in Merzouga, a small village at the foot of the stunning Erg Chebbi dunes. Here, you’ll embark on a camel caravan for about an hour’s journey into the heart of the rose-tinted Sahara Desert, reaching a Berber tented camp just before sunset. Enjoy the mesmerizing sunset over the golden dunes, followed by a traditional dinner and Berber music under the starry sky. Overnight in a tent.
Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise as the first light of day illuminates the dunes. Afterward, return to Merzouga on camelback. Following a refreshing shower and breakfast at a local hotel, we will begin our return journey to Marrakech.
